Greatest classic RPG of all time

I love RPG games, its probably because I'm not really a hardcore game player and don't have the needed reflexes like one. But it is also because I enjoy a game with a deep story behind it, one that u can easily fall into (like soap opera). There are many different types of RPGs today but not too many are comparable in my opinion with the classic ones, they are the ones that I keep going back to replay again and again. and heres a few that I would like to suggest for you all. btw, I'm not going to tell you the storyline cause I don't want to spoil it for you.

- Final Fantasy 1 (NES)- The two words that gamers think of when you talk about RPG games. Final Fantasy is like the grandfather of Rpgs, it is not just simple hack and slash but have a full storyline behind it. Most NES rpgs are not so well written and lacks quality but Final Fantasy is definitely not one of them, you can easily get around 50+ hours of gameplay with this one (assuming your NES doesn't fall apart like mine). if you are new to rpgs, this one is definitely for you.

-Final Fantasy 3 (or 6 in jap ver.)(SNES)- Yes, I have play all the ones in the middle, but never have really felt in love as much as this one. The music, the story is just so amazing. Even till today, I still have some of those songs on my cellphone. I know there were a lot of debates between FF6 and FF7 on which one is better. I have to say they are both awesome, so just play em both and judge for yourself.

-Chrono Trigger (SNES)- Even Gamespot.com have name this game the greatest game of all time, so this one must be excellent as well (in fact it is). This game is made by Square Soft (maker of FFs), it is comparable to the FF series and on top of it, this one features multiple endings so you can go back and play it again and again. The storyline is awesome as usual and the music is amazing, the dual combo was a new thing and it works extremely well with the game, so go and get a copy of this game (hopefully you won't have to spend too much for it).

- Super Mario RPG (SNES)- Mario pretty much starts in every category of games that I can think of, from driving to sport and now to RPG. Not all of his games are successful but this one definitely is. To start, this game is 3D, its impressive at that time when it came out. The cast of characters are still the same old favorites you love (including Broswer) and there are tons of secret for you to unlock! and just to spill some beans in case you have a mix feeling about trying this game, you get to team up with Broswer and create some impressive combos.

-Earthbound (aka. Mother in jap ver)(SNES)- Don't know if too many people know about this game, but this one is definitely is one creative and fun RPG to play (in fact. Many rpgs revolves around dragons and mages but this one is about a kid who carries a baseball bat to save the world, now that's something new and creative. On top of that, you battle against silly creatures, eat pizza and junk food to recover health, best of all, you call your dad to save your game and he'll give you spending money.

- Shining Forces 2 (Genesis)- This game must have the greatest cast of character ever, so many that I can't even count. This one is so fun to play with, so fun that I even level all my characters to level 99 (yes even the small weakling green creature) (if you know what I mean), this is more like a strategy rpg, so its sort of like battle chess. You have knights, half horse half man, mages, archers, machines (like a tank), birdman, werewolves (omggg, so many more), if you like strategy rpgs, this one is a must get!

- Phantasy Stars 4 (Genesis)- I have play 2 and 3 but I just felt overall, 4 is the best. This is a more robotic type of rpg, I don't remember when was the year, but you battle against all mech creatures. the setup is kind of funny, because you just get the see the back of each character's head but that doesn't affect the game play at all. I don't remember much about this game because its been a while since I last played but all i know is, this game is great and I bet you'll enjoy it as well.

There are just so many more great RPG games out there, but these are a few of my favorite ones, if you are looking for a hard copy, they can be difficult to find and real expensive on ebay, maybe try look on craigslist and sometimes they have cheap finds.

Which video game console should you buy?

Today in the Video game world, there are the big three, in case you don't know, they are Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Although they are all selling game console yet their game consoles is targetting toward different audiences. So it is best to find out more about each console before purchasing them (you really don't want to spent 400+ dollars to find out you don't really like it). So here's a little information about each gaming console out there:

- Nintendo Wii- After its launch, it seems almost impossible to get your hands on one of these babies but by now, there should not be a big problem getting one. Nintendo Wii is definitely a console that target towards family or a group of people. It is very addictive, intuitive and fun. The Wii is definitely not build for graphics (compare to xbox360 and ps3) but it focus on the Wii remote, a unique motion sensitive controller that allow players to exercise their hand movements. If you are getting a console to entertain a crowd, the Wii is definitely the way to go. But if you are into more realistic graphic games, then you'll be better off with xbox360 or Ps3. Even with that said, prices are still high for the Wii due to its high demand.

- Microsoft xbox360- On paper, the Ps3 is supposely to be technologically superior to the xbox360 but a lot of experts are saying that it'll take a while until game developers to truly take advantage of the ps3 horsepower. At this moment, both the ps3 and xbox360 are equal in terms of graphics and realism. The Xbox360 has one clear advantage over the ps3 in that xbox has a much larger library of games. There are three different version of xbox360 out there, the basic, the premium and the elite. Both the elite and premium comes with removable hard drive which is needed for online gaming. The basic xbox360 has no hard drive and its only good for those that don't care for online play.

- Sony Playstation 3- critics are saying that someday, the PS3 will be the best console ever. but for now, it is probably going to be xbox360's world. The PS3 have superior power over xbox360 but their gaming library is very limited. But Ps3 does include some great additional hardware that could be interesting for some buyers. It can play high-def Blu-ray discs (great for dvd lovers), it is probably the least expensive blu-ray players available on the market. It also includes Wi-Fi, internet capabilities with built in web browser.

So that's a little bit of information about the BIG 3, the rest of the research is up to you my friend. Just to summarize, or to help you make a quick decision. The Nintendo Wii is perfect for parties, you and all your friends will have hours of fun with it. The Xbox360 is probably the best gaming console right now due to its huge gaming library, perfect for the hardcore gamer. The PS3 would probably attract those who are a little more casual about gaming, those who might like to watch dvd or surf the web with their gaming console, but no doubt that the PS3 would dominate the gaming console world one day.

Intro to massive multiplayer online role-playing games

A massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a genre of computer role-playing games (CRPGs) in which a large number of players interact with one another in a virtual world.

While it is the big names ( World of Warcraft) in the massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) world that get all of the publicity, there is still strong support for the underdog independent publishers who put out lesser known games. The well known MMORPGs have alot of financial backing, which in turn makes them more lucritive. These games are usually offered as free MMORPG downloads to anyone who wishes to participate and provide a great way for people to get their feet wet in the world of MMORPG games without paying the hefty monthly fees. Many of the independent game developers make titles that offer greater variety of free MMORPG downloads so there is certainly something for everyone. It just takes a little time in order to find a game online, but not impossible.
There are essentially two different types of free MMORPG downloads. The first is the graphical variety. These are the types of games which provide an environment much like you would get in a pay-for online RPG like Ultima Online. The graphics on some of these games are not quite as spectacular as one would find on the newer, more costly games, but the same depth of gameplay is available. On the other hand, some free MMORPG downloads come in the form of web based games.
These are games that harness the power of your web browser usually with a Java plug-in. The games in this form are rudimentary and mostly text based, but can still provide the interactions with other players as one would finds on the graphical variety. I have personally seen these games played and they are tremedously well written.
After deciding which category of free MMORPG downloads to choose from, you can try checking out some of the top games for free.

Below I have listed a few free games that you might find interesting (just search google for these names to download them for free):

-Flyff- From the creation of your account Flyff features an assortment of characters. You create the look and feel of your character and send him/her off to battle in 5 different towns and 3 different islands. Flyff offers more than 80 quests and numerous different beasts to battle to keep you engaged for hours.
If that's not enough, hold on to your hat and imagine thousands of players filling the sky as you now enter the world of MMORPG FLIGHT! That’s right; Flyff is the first Flying MMORPG in the world.
Still craving more….? You want to show everyone that you are the best of the best? Well, continue to level up through the 80 plus levels and earn enough Gpotato dollars to buy a board or a broom and fly to the PVP Island to battle thousands of other players.
Still want more….? Use your Gpotato dollars that you have earned or added to your account to buy items and recharge your character to make him/her more powerful in battle. And we all know power is the most important thing in this game, especially since there will be extensive expansions for Flyff with even more great worlds to explore and beasts to conquer.
Are you interested yet? No? Try this great feature…All this fun is for FREE!!!!

Maplestory-
Have you ever wanted to go back in time to the glory days of 2D, side-scrolling, console-style RPGs. Well, add an MMO and free to play to the mix and you have MapleStory. Join over 50 million other players in real time worldwide in defending “Maple World” from monsters of every size, shape and challenge level. Venture deep into dungeons solo or with a party of up to five other players and root out the beasts below as your character - whether Warrior, Magician, Bowman or Thief - collects money and useful items, gains experience points, levels up and improves a wide array of skills. Even join a guild of like-minded gamers. Or, just hang out and chat, trade, or play a unique minigame or two. The vast world of MapleStory is whatever you make it.
New players will find themselves in Maple Island, a beginner-friendly floating island. Unlike most MMORPGs, players in MapleStory don’t choose a “class” or “job” during character creation. Instead, all characters in this MMOG are labeled “Beginner” until certain requirements are met for advancement. Players may select from a variety of faces, hair styles, hair and skin colors, and initial equipment. Up to three characters may be kept on each game world/server.
MapleStory features a ranking system which allows players to compare their character(s) experience point gain to others in the same world and class, as well as any changes in ranking from the previous day. There is no PvP combat in this MMO, but there are monsters aplenty throughout the Maple World, including many challenging “boss monsters”. Also, there are over 100 quests in MapleStory which may garner unique items as rewards. As a counter to MapleStory’s free play, a “Cash Shop” was introduced wherein players can buy various in-game items and character alterations using real-world money.

RFonline- In the future, humanity will become extinct and the diminishing of desperately needed natural resources throughout the galaxy will result in a no-holds-barred bid to control what little remains. One planet in the distant, magic enriched Novus system is discovered to contain such minerals. The three descendents of humankind - the technologically advanced cyborg Accretia, the inventive techno-magic Bellato, and the spiritually guided, magically gifted Cora - have made the journey to this remote planet and are now using every advantage at their disposal to seize the coveted Talic Mines. The power to save an entire race is in your hands.
RF Online, known as Rising Force Online until after the Korean Closed Beta, is a sci-fi/fantasy MMORPG wherein powerful magic (which the game calls “Force”) exists alongside advanced technology. Unlike most MMOs that use statistics like strength, dexterity, mana and hit points, RF Online features a PT (Point) leveling system which represents various skills and masteries from Ammo (crafting) to Summon. Each PT has its own experience bar which raises as a particular skill or mastery is used.
RF Online also features a unique three-way Race vs. Race (RvR) battle concept, with the player choosing to play as one of those races based on their preference towards technology (the Accretia), magic (the Cora) or a combination of the two (the Bellato). The outcome of every RvR battle has world-reaching effects on in-game economy. When not engaged in RvR combat, players can hunt monsters or take on quests for PT experience and equipment drops which may have special bonuses not found in store bought equipment. Unlike many MMOGs, however, there are no "safe hunting zones" in RF Online. Every area is open to attack from opposing races.

If the above games don't seem to be interesting for you, don't get discouraged, there are tons of other free MMORPG, just search MMORPG on google and you'll see them all.

And one more thing, this is for those of you who play maple story and don't mind paying a few bucks to get more in game gold so you can enjoy the game more without having to worrying about in game gold- Click here to read more
